Due to her outstanding performance both in the classroom and on the court, senior outside hitter Karley King of the Case Western Reserve University volleyball team has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District volleyball first team.
This is the third career All-District honor for King. By being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District first team, she will be placed on the ballot for the Academic All-America team which will be announced on Wednesday, December 11th.
King, an All-UAA Academic honoree, finished the year with a.179 hitting percentage, and finished fourth on the team with 207 kills (1.99 per set). She also gathered 69 digs and 44 total blocks throughout the season. Over her four years as a Spartan, King has totaled 996 kills (2.36 per set), 274 digs and 184 total blocks.
King carries a 4.00 cumulative grade point average as a Biomedical Engineering major at CWRU.
Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by CoSIDA. CWRU is included in District 7, which includes Division III schools from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
The Spartans finished the regular season with a 13-16 overall record and finished in fifth-place at the University Athletic Association Championships.
