The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the Carnegie Mellon DoubleTree Invitational on Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th.
The Spartans are slated to play Susquehanna University at 2:00 p.m. and the University of Scranton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, CWRU will face 13th-ranked Hope College at 3:00 p.m. and Washington and Jefferson College at 5:00 p.m. to conclude the invitational.

CWRU Spartans (3-4)
The Spartans fell to the University of Mount Union 3-2 (20-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23 and 14-16) on Wednesday night.
Junior middle hitter Katie Kaminski paced the squad with 17 kills, with senior outside hitter Karley King and senior outside hitter Brianna Lemon contributing 12 and 11, respectively. Senior setter Faith Ellis added 25 assists in the match, and Lemon had a Spartan-best 19 digs.
Susquehanna River Hawks (7-1)
The River Hawks will enter Friday's match coming off a 3-0 victory against Dickinson College on Tuesday evening. Rosina Esposito recorded a team-high nine kills. Samantha Balsamo set up the offense with 16 assists, while Lizzie Herestofa recorded a team-best eight digs.
For the season, Susquehanna has averaged 13.8 kills per set, 12.7 assists per set and 1.9 blocks per set. Sydney Portale leads the River Hawks with 85 kills, while Esposito is close behind with 83. Lindsey Pugh sets up the offense as she has tallied 245 assists for the season. Defensively, Herestofa has totaled 120 digs, while Caroline Beohm has contributed 73 to the team total.
Scranton Royals (4-3)
The Royals have averaged 11.13 kills per set, 10.40 assists per set and 1.92 blocks per set. Carah Vitkus currently leads Scranton with 55 kills and Kindler Norman has set up the Royals offense with 127 assists. Defensively, Regina Schetroma has a recorded a team-high 114 digs, while Eryn Boken has registered 17 total blocks.
Scranton will open the CMU Invitational against Muskingum on Friday, before facing the Spartans later in the day.
Hope Flying Dutch (5-1)
The Flying Dutch have averaged 12.27 kills per set, 10.95 assists per set and 1.70 blocks per set. Ana Grunewald and McKenna Otto each lead Hope with 54 kills, while Tracy Westra has set up the Flying Dutch offense with 110 assists. Defensively, Grace Pettinger has recorded a team-high 69 digs, while Otto has registered 18 total blocks.
Hope opens the CMU Invitational against Muskingum and Mount Union on Friday, before facing host Carnegie Mellon and CWRU on Saturday.
Washington & College Presidents (1-6)
The Presidents have averaged 9.0 kills per set, 8.3 assists per set and 1.4 blocks per set. Haley Nelson currently leads Washington & Jefferson with 52 kills and Mallory O'Brien has set up the Presidents offense with 143 assists. Defensively, Makenzie Coughlin has recorded a team-high 156 digs, while Morgan Jacques has registered 22 total blocks.
Washington & Jefferson will open the CMU Invitational against Mount Union and Carnegie Mellon on Friday, before facing Scranton and CWRU on Saturday.
Junior Katie Kaminski currently ranks fourth in the University Athletic Association with a .404 hitting percentage…Senior Brianna Lemon leads the team with 72 kills (2.67 per set), while Kaminski (2.41 per set) and senior Karley King (2.50 per set) have each totaled 65 kills…Senior Faith Ellis has a team-high 145 assists (5.37 per set), and Lemon's 97 digs (3.59 per set) rank first on the team…The Spartans are averaging 12.04 kills per set, 11.00 assists per set and 1.56 blocks per set this season.
