Due to her outstanding performance both in the classroom and on the court, junior outside hitter Karley King of the Case Western Reserve University volleyball team has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District volleyball first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
This is the second career All-District honor for King. By being named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District first team, she will be placed on the ballot for the Academic All-America team which will be announced on Wednesday, December 12th.
King, an All-UAA First Team selection and an All-UAA Academic honoree, finished the regular season with a .245 hitting percentage, and led the team with 362 kills (3.26 per set). Her 362 kills and 3.26 kills per set ranked third among all University Athletic Association players during the regular season. She also gathered 115 digs and 51 total blocks throughout the season. Over her three years as a Spartan, King has totaled 789 kills (2.48 per set), 205 digs and 140 total blocks.
King carries a 4.00 cumulative grade point average as a Biomedical Engineering major at CWRU.
Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by CoSIDA. CWRU is included in District 7, which includes Division III schools from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
The Spartans finished the regular season with an 18-14 overall record and finished in seventh-place at the University Athletic Association Championships.
