The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team will play two matches in Tiffin, Ohio on Saturday. The first match is against Marietta College at 3:00 p.m. and the second is against Heidelberg University at 5:00 p.m.
This will be the first meeting between the Spartans and the Pioneers since the 2014 season. The two teams faced each other at the BSN River City Volleyball Tournament on September 27th. The Spartans fell in straight sets, 25-17, 27-25 and 25-18.
CWRU and Heidelberg will be facing each other for the fifth consecutive season, as the Student Princes won last year's match in four sets, 18-25, 25-21, 25-16 and 25-17.

CWRU Spartans (15-9)
The Spartans are led on the attack by sophomore outside hitter Brianna Lemon, who averages 3.11 kills per set. Lemon also contributes 3.22 digs per set defensively. Sophomore setter Faith Ellis averaging a team-high 7.63 assists per match, while junior libero Karina Bondelid is tallying on average 2.72 digs per game defensively.
Marietta Pioneers (11-13)
The Pioneers are led by senior outside hitter Darcy Irish who averages 2.70 kills per set. Senior outside hitter Erica Denallo also contributes to the attack with 2.33 kills per set. Freshman Maddie Nader serves as the main setter for Marietta averaging 4.44 assists per set. In the back row, senior defensive specialist Emily Peters averages a team-high 5.25 digs per set.
Heidelberg Student Princes (12-11)
The Student Princes are led by junior outside hitter Morgan Strenk who averages 3.23 kills per set as well as 1.85 digs per set. Sophomore outside hitter Taylor Valentine also contributes also contributes to the attack with 2.67 kills per set. Sophomore Anna McNabb serves as the main setter for Heidelberg averaging 10.82 assists per set. In the back row, senior defensive specialist Rachel Raimondo averages a team-high 5.73 digs per game.
Head Coach Karen Farrell won her 400th career game this past weekend, as the Spartans defeated the University Rochester (N.Y.) in straight sets…Farrell, who entered the year 15 wins shy of 400, improved to 400-330 during her 22 seasons coaching…Sophomore Brianna Lemon fourth in the University Athletic Association with 258 kills and 3.11 kills per set…Sophomore Haley Sims ranks fifth in the UAA with a .302 hitting percentage, while sophomore Faith Ellis ranks third with 7.63 assists per set…The Spartans are averaging 12.38 kills per set, 11.66 assists per set and 1.42 blocks per set this season.
