The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team will prepare to host the University of Mount Union for a mid-week matchup on Wednesday, September 13th in Horsburgh Gymnasium. The match is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start.

CWRU Spartans (5-2)
The Spartans completed a perfect 3-0 weekend at the 19th-Annual Marcia French Invitational. On Friday, CWRU defeated Eastern Mennonite University with scores of 25-8, 25-17 and 25-23. The Spartans came back on Saturday to open the day with a 25-15, 25-10 and 25-20 win over North Carolina Wesleyan College, and followed that up with a 25-12, 25-15 and 26-24 victory over John Carroll University to close out the tournament.
Sophomore outside hitter Karley King was named the Spartans representative on the All-Tournament team, after recording 23 kills during the three matches. Sophomore outside hitter Brianna Lemon played a significant role as well, recording a .392 attack percentage for the weekend. She notched a team 37 kills (4.62 per set) and 26 digs (3.25 per set).
Mount Union Purple Raiders (8-0)
The Purple Raiders also competed a perfect weekend at the Marcia French Invitational, as they went 4-0 and were named co-tournament champions alongside Baldwin Wallace University. Mount Union earned wins against Buffalo State and North Carolina Wesleyan on Friday, and concluded the tournament with wins against Eastern Mennonite and Hilbert College on Saturday.
Freshman Madelin DiBease currently leads the Purple Raiders with a 101 kills (4.04 per set) and has also tallied 21 digs for the season. The Mount Union offense has been set up this season by senior Riley Schenk, as she has totaled 250 assists (9.62 per set). Defensively, the Raiders' are led by junior Allison Baird who has collected 101 digs (3.88 per set), while sophomore Marlee Peck has gathered 16 total blocks (0.70 per set).
Head Coach Karen Farrell will enter Wednesday's match just 10 wins shy of 400 for her career…Sophomore Brianna Lemon currently ranks third in the University Athletic Association with 3.39 kills per set, while sophomore Haley Sims ranks third in the UAA with a .375 hitting percentage…Sophomore Faith Ellis ranks second in the UAA with 8.00 assists per set…Last season, the Spartans dropped a tough 3-2 decision to Mount Union…Haley Sims and Brianna Lemon led the team with 12 kills, while Karina Bondelid finished with 19 digs…The Spartans are averaging 12.79 kills per set, 12.17 assists per set and 1.63 blocks per set this season.
