The 2015 season served as one of the most historic in program history as the Case Western Reserve volleyball team finished the year with a 25-8 record, the most wins by the team since the 2000 campaign and the second-most ever by a Spartan volleyball squad.

After finishing the regular season with a 24-7 record, the Spartans qualified for the NCAA Championships for just the second time in program history, and claimed its first-ever NCAA Tournament victory after defeating Mary Washington in the first round of the tournament.

With a 5-2 record in the University Athletic Association, the Spartans finished in third place. The third place finish for the Spartans was the volleyball program's best finish since a third place finish in the UAA Championships in 1997.

Also a program first, the volleyball team was ranked by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, checking in at No. 24 the week of October 7.

CWRU opened the season with a 10-0 record, the best start for the program under Head Coach Karen Farrell. In the winning streak, the Spartans won seven straight matches by a 3-0 score, and eight overall through its first ten matches. Of their 33 matches in 2015, CWRU won 18 of those games by a score of 3-0.

The Spartans were paced by senior Haley Kauffman, who was named to the All-UAA first team, as well as All-UAA second team honorees seniors Carolyn Bogart and Katie Best.

Kauffman became the first Spartan since Tricia McCutchan in 2011 to be named to the All-UAA First Team.  She finished the season with a .354 hitting percentage, the best-single season mark in school history, and is second in school history with a .289 career percentage. Kauffman also became the first UAA Athlete of the Week honoree, earning the award the week of October 12, since Natalie Southard in the 2013 season.

The freshman class proved to be full of impact players who could step in and create plays for the team. Leading the team with 6.86 assists per set, good for fifth in the all-time rankings, and 734 assists total, freshman setter Shannon Carroll played in all 33 matches this season.
