The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team defeated Brandeis University to conclude the University Athletic Association Round Robin #1 hosted by New York University at the Coles Sports Center.
After the three-game weekend, the Spartans are now 16-2 overall and 2-1 in the UAA, while Brandeis fell to 3-14 overall and 0-3 in the UAA.
CWRU won in three, 25-14, 25-8 and 25-14, highlighted by a .667 kill percentage in the second game.
Senior outside hitter Carolyn Bogart recorded 14 kills, while junior outside hitter Marian Barton added nine and senior middle hitter Haley Kauffman tallied eight for the Spartans. Freshman setter Shannon Carroll contributed 17 assists offensively and senior setter Robyn Marks was also in double-digits with 12 assists. Senior libero Katie Best led the CWRU defensively with 20 digs and Bogart added 13 to the count. Carroll and Kauffman each recorded two total blocks at the net.
The CWRU volleyball team now returns to Cleveland for a home match against Oberlin College on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gymnasium.
