The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team added two more wins to their tally to remain undefeated at the Otterbein Classic in Westerville, Ohio on Saturday, defeating Berea College 3-0 in the early match, followed by a 3-0 victory over Capital University.
The Spartans kept their flawless record for the season intact improving to 5-0 on the year.
CWRU improved on the attack against Berea, hitting .283 for the match, winning 25-16, 25-20, 25-13. The Spartans' performance was highlighted by a 12 kill and a .579 attack percentage from senior middle hitter Haley Kauffman (Hartville, Ohio/Lake).
Senior Robyn Marks led the team with 17 assists, senior outside hitter Carolyn Bogart added nine kills and led the Spartans with 13 digs.
CWRU continued its winning streak with a three-set victory over Capital, 25-8, 25-14 and 25-13. Bogart led on the attack with 12 kills, while Marks added 17 more assists to her total for the day. Marks also recorded 10 digs matching senior libero Katie Best (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny), who tallied the same number.
The Spartans will return to action on Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th as the program will co-host the annual Marcia French Invitational alongside Baldwin Wallace. The Spartans will play the first match of the doubleheader on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against Buffalo State.
