TIFFIN, Ohio – The Case Western Reserve University volleyball team lost a non-conference road match at Heidelberg University, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Seiberling Gymnasium.
The Spartans (15-10) fell by scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-19. The Student Princes improve to 17-11.
Sophomore middle hitter Kayla Pfaff (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) posted CWRU's top kills total with five. Setting duties were evenly split between freshman Jessica Justice (St. Augustine, Fla./St. Augustine) and sophomore Lauren Gurd (Farmington Hills, Mich./Detroit Country Day), as each posted 11 assists.
Defensively, sophomore libero Julie Colaianni (North Olmsted, Ohio / St. Joseph Academy) paced the defense with eight digs.
The Spartans are back in action next Saturday, November 1, with matches against Denison University and The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Action will get under way at noon.
