The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams are geared up for the 2020 University Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by New York University at The Armory in New York, New York.
Competition will begin on Saturday, February 29th at 5:00 p.m. and the championships will wrap up on Sunday, March 1st with events set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
Six Spartans are ranked in the top three in their respective events, while 14 athletes head into competition in scoring positions with top eight times or marks thus far this season.
Junior Taylor Jackson will compete in the women's weight throw on Saturday evening. Jackson enters the event with the UAA's top mark this season (15.34 meters) and she also has the fourth-best mark in the shot put (12.04 meters). In addition, first-year Mia Vargo and senior Bailey Flint are each currently tied for second in the conference in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters. The women's distance medley relay team has the second-best time in the conference this season.
Also with top three marks in the UAA, senior Dominic Oddo comes in with the second-best conference mark in the long jump (6.89 meters), while junior Jordan Butler currently has the third-best mark with a distance of 6.75 meters. Senior Jonathan Haling also comes in with a time of 50.06 which ranks third-best in the 400-meter dash this season and the men's distance medley relay has the second-best time in the conference this season.
