Track & Field in Action at Two Meets this Weekend

The Case Western Reserve University track and field teams will be back in action this weekend, as the squad will be split between a pair of meets. Throwers will be at the Rick Meindl Last Call Meet at Capital University in Bexley, Ohio on Friday, February 21st, while the rest of the team will be competing at the Kent State Tune Up at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio on Saturday, February 22nd.

Last weekend, Spartans from the track and field teams competed either at the Mid-February Meet hosted by Baldwin Wallace University or the 2020 All-Ohio Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Otterbein University.

Junior Trey Razanauskas highlighted the Spartans performances, as he placed first in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 14:55.27. In addition, the men's distance medley relay team of senior Jonathan Haling, senior Michael Hradesky, sophomore Logan Singer and first-year Joe Jaster claimed a second-place finish in the event with a time of 10:24.19. Hradesky also earned a second-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.99, while senior David Hall finished second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:46.14. Senior Dominic Oddo registered a third-place finish in the long jump (6.89m) and first-year Jack Begley placed third in the 5,000-meter run (15:07.41).

Top performances for the women on Saturday included the distance medley relay team of junior Madison Vargo, sophomore Grace Bentley, sophomore Kiera Olson and first-year Melissa Phung, as they finished third in the event with a time of 12:56.47.

Each of the Spartans who earned top-three performances in their respective events received All-Ohio recognition.

Results and a recap of the Spartans' performances at the meets will be posted to athletics.case.edu following the completion of competition on Friday and Saturday.
