CWRU Track and Field to Compete at Snow Globe Invitational

The Case Western Reserve University men's and women's track and field teams are prepared to travel to Westerville, Ohio for the 2020 Snow Globe Invitational on Saturday, January 18th, hosted by Otterbein University in the Clement Recreation and Fitness facility.

Action at the Snow Globe Invite will begin at 10:30 a.m. with field events, followed by running events starting at 11:30 a.m. For more meet information, CLICK HERE.

The Spartans are looking forward to another weekend of competition after last competing at the CWRU Spartan Holiday Classic on December 7th. The men's and women's teams combined to total 14 first-place finishes at the meet, with the men contributing 10 and the women tallying four.

Sophomore Juan Perez led the men as he placed first in the 60-meter dash (7.19) and finished first in the 200-meter dash (23.46). In addition, Perez teamed with first-year Keith Cartwright, first-year Keith Roberts and junior Musa Hakim Jr. to claim the title in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:35.75. The men also added a first-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay, as Cartwright, junior Daniel Grasing, first-year Joe Jaster and first-year Putu Randy Radiarta crossed the finish line with a time of 3:34.64.

For the women, first-year Mia Vargo won the high jump with a mark of 1.55 meters, first-year Catherine Phillips claimed the title in the mile-run with a time of 5:59.46 and junior Madison Vargo placed first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:33.94. In addition, the women's 4x200-meter relay team of Mia Vargo, senior Bailey Flint, senior Samantha Kelts and junior Julie Hines placed first in the event with a time of 1:54.51.
