Case Western Reserve University senior Danielle Kulpins was named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for women's track, following her performance at the 2018 All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University, in Delaware, Ohio on Saturday.
Kulpins earned All-Ohio honors with a first-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:40.17, which bests her previous school record of 11:10.89 set in 2016. Her time also set a new meet record at the All-Ohio Championships, as she bested Baldwin Wallace's Jessica Textoris who ran a time of 10:40.89 during the 2003 season. Kulpins' time currently ranks first in the University Athletic Association and first in Division III.
This was her first UAA Athlete of the Week honor of her career.
