The Case Western Reserve University women's track and field broke six program records, received three All-UAA honors and claimed an individual conference Championship during the 2015-16 indoor season.

During the two-day University Athletic Association Indoor Championships, senior Temi Omilabu won the UAA Championship in the weight throw with a throw of 15.88 meters.  Omilabu became the second Spartan woman ever to win the UAA title event, joining former CWRU athlete Amanda Kline (2013).  Freshman Mikhaylan Price added the first All-UAA honor of her career in the weight throw at the meet, placing third with a throw of 13.48 meters.

Also earning an All-UAA honor at the conference championships was senior Christen Saccucci in the pole vault, finishing second after clearing the bar at a height of 3.42 meters.  It was her second career All-UAA finish in the event at the indoor championships, after finishing third in the pole vault in 2015.

The CWRU women set school records in three individual events and four relays over the two-day championship meet.  Sophomore Skylar Braga finished sixth in the preliminaries of the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.98 seconds, breaking the previous school record of 8.02, set by Leslie Stanard in 2012.  Braga went on to finish sixth in the finals of the event with a time of 8.04 seconds.

Also setting school records for the Spartan women at the UAA Championships were freshman Olivia Newman with a time of 58.81 seconds in the 400-meter dash (besting her own school record of 59.22 seconds in the event) and senior Taylor O'Neil in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.25 (breaking her own record of 2:23.01 set in 2015). In addition, the CWRU women's 4x400-meter relay of junior Abby Casalnova, freshman Maria Derenzo, O'Neil and Newman broke the school record in the event with a time of 4:06.51 (besting the previous program record of 4:07.28 set in 2012), finishing seventh in the event.

During the course of the season, two other CWRU program records fell.  Saccucci set a program record in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 3.50 meters at the Battle for the Obelisk, while Omilabu's throw of 17.02 meters at the Polar Bear Final Qualifier was a CWRU-best mark in the event.

Two Spartan women also earned All-Great Lakes Region Honors from The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in their respective events, senior Kelsey Aamoth (3,000m run) and Newman (400m dash).

The Spartan men's and women's track and field teams won the Ninth Annual Battle for the Obelisk against University Athletic Association rival Carnegie Mellon University as they  combined for a total of 146 team points.  This was the second-straight year the Spartans had won the Obelisk. The women's team scored 88 points and the men contributed 58 in order to hold on to the title.

In addition to their work on the track and field, the Spartans were recognized as a team for their academic achievements, as the team received All-Academic Honors by the USTFCCCA with a team grade point average of 3.55, the 17th-best among the programs receiving All-Academic status. 22 members of the Case Western Reserve women's indoor track and field team received Winter UAA All-Academic recognition.
