Aamoth Selected to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

Case Western Reserve University senior Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio / Solon) was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Cross Country/ Track & Field Team for her athletic and academic achievements over her collegiate career.

The Academic All-District honor was the first of Aamoth's career, as the senior will now be eligible for Academic All-America honors, by virtue of earning all-district recognition.

Aamoth recently completed a stellar career at Case Western Reserve.  During the 2015 country season, she qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for the second-straight season, finishing 55th overall.  In addition, she was second at the NCAA Great Lakes Region Championships, earning all-region honors for the fourth time in her career, and claimed her third career All-UAA honor after finishing 10th at the conference championships.  She added an all-region honor in the 3,000-meter run during the indoor season, and received the CWRU Athletics' Andrews Award as the department's top senior female athlete.

Academically, Aamoth has recorded a 3.90 grade point average as a biomedical engineering major, and has a 4.0 grade point average as a graduate student at CWRU.  She is a two-time USTFCCCA Scholar-Athlete awardee and has been recognized on nine occasions as a UAA All-Academic honoree.

Voting for the Academic All-District team is conducted by members of CoSIDA.  Case Western Reserve is a part of District 7, which includes Division III student-athletes from colleges in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.  By virtue of being named to the Academic All-District Team, Aamoth will be placed on the ballot for the Academic All-America team, with first-, second-, and third-teams to be announced on Wednesday, June 22nd.
