CHICAGO - The Case Western Reserve University women's track and field team finished in fourth place with seven All-Association performances to conclude the 2015 University Athletic Association Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the University of Chicago at the Ratner Center.
The Spartans finished fourth of seven teams with 55 points. Chicago finished first with 154 points and Washington University in St. Louis finished second with 131.
Earning the title in the triple jump, junior Asante Brown (Rochester, N.Y./Hilton) jumped 11.00 meters. Also earning All-UAA honors and finishing third in the triple, sophomore Ashley Leyden (Atco, N.J./St. Joseph) jumped 10.64 meters.
In the high jump, senior Rachel Tan (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) set a career-best as she sailed over the bar set at 1.63 meters to finish third. Tan also finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.56 and fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.14 meters.
In the throws, sophomore Temi Omilabu (Katy, Texas/Seven Hills) finshed seventh in the shot put with a toss of 10.64 meters.
Junior distance runner, Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon) earned All-UAA honors in the 3,000-meter run as she crossed the finish line with a time of 10:14.46 for third place.
The Spartans will now await the 2015 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship lists to be posted. The meet will be held Friday and Saturday March 13-14 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
