MARIETTA, Ohio – Sophomore Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon) won the 1,500-meter run as the Case Western Reserve University women's track & field team competed at the rain-soaked Don Frail Invitational on Saturday at Marietta College's Don Drumm Stadium.

Due to steady rain throughout the day, event order was shifted and several field events were moved indoors.

Aamoth's win was her second in as many outdoor meets (5,000m run last weekend). Today, she placed first of 42 in the 1,500m with a career-best time of 4:49.51.

Overall, the Spartans picked up three top-five finishes on the track. Senior Brooke Simpson (Solon, Ohio/Solon) was fourth of 13 in the 400m hurdles in 1:15.90, while junior McKenzie Braun (Omaha, Neb./West Side) crossed the line fifth of 24 in the 100m dash in 13.43 seconds.

In the field events, sophomore Christen Saccucci (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) tied for fourth in the pole vault by clearing the bar at 10 feet, two inches.

The Spartans are back in action next Saturday, April 5 at the Marv Frye Invitational in Delaware.
