ALLIANCE, Ohio – Led by an individual victory in the 3,000-meter run by sophomore Kelsey Aamoth (Solon, Ohio/Solon), the Case Western Reserve University women's track & field team competed at the unscored Jim Wuske Invitational hosted by the University of Mount Union on Saturday.
Aamoth defeated 32 other runners in the 3,000m with a career-best time of 10:33.09.
Also victorious was the distance medley relay team with a time of 13:20.49 from sophomores Taylor O'Neil (Dayton, Ohio/Carroll) and Juliana Ross (New York, N.Y./Bronx Science) and freshmen Olivia Zabrodsky (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) and Kayla Anderson (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls).
Junior Rachel Tan (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) also turned in a top finish with a third-place performance in the 60m hurdles (9.79).
The Spartans are back in action at two different locations next weekend. Part of the squad will take part in the BW Mid-February Meet in Berea on Friday, February 14 (5:00 p.m.), while the team's top scorers will compete at the All-Ohio Championship in Westerville on Saturday, Feb. 15 (12:00 p.m.).
