The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team, ranked 16th in Division III, will return to action with a home match against Division I DePaul University (Ill.) on Saturday, March 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the Cleveland Skating Club.
The Spartans have opened their spring season with a 2-2 record, following a split this past weekend against Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Cleveland State University. CWRU is ranked 16th in the ITA Preseason National Rankings, and third in the Central Region poll.
Sophomore Mira Amin (3-1) and freshman Nidhi Jha (3-1) have each opened their spring season seasons with just one loss, while the No. 1 doubles duo of sophomores Madeleine Paolucci and Nicole Cardwell have combined to go 3-1 in doubles play so far this spring.
DePaul stands at 4-7 after falling to Indiana University 3-4 on February 24th. DePaul is scheduled to play Michigan State on Friday and Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon, before traveling to the Cleveland Skating Club to face the Spartans on Saturday evening. The Blue Demons lineup features Keisha Clousing who has posted a 7-4 record at first singles this spring, while also teaming with Alina Kuzmenkova at first doubles to post a 5-4 record. The two schools last met during the 2014-15 season, when DePaul claimed a 9-0 win over the Spartans.
