The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team, ranked 16th in Division III, concluded their weekend with a 9-0 loss against Division I opponent Cleveland State University at the Medical Mutual Tennis Pavilion on Sunday evening.
The Spartans dropped to 2-2 on the campaign with the loss, while the Vikings raised their record to 3-5.
At first doubles, sophomore Madeleine Paolucci and sophomore Nicole Cardwell were able to take on game from Klara Mrcela and Kateryna Avram. Freshmen Sneha Karnam and Nidhi Jha were also able to take a game from Isabella Spindler and Gaby Schoenberg at second doubles.
In singles, sophomore Mira Amin was able to take four games in the first set and two games in the second set of fourth singles, but eventually fell to Gaby Schoenberg. Paolucci at first singles won three games in her first set.
Case Western Reserve will be back in action next weekend, when the team takes on Division I DePaul University on Saturday, March 2nd at the Cleveland Skating Club. Matches are slated to start at 6:00 p.m. ET.
