Kanagasegar and Paolucci Ranked in First Oracle/ITA Rankings of 2017-18

A pair of Spartans on the Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team have been ranked in the Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III National Singles and Doubles Rankings of the 2017-18 season, released on Wednesday.

Senior Nithya Kanagasegar, who advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Fall Central Regional Championships, will enter the spring as the 48th-ranked player in Division III.

In the national doubles poll, Kanagasegar and freshman Madeleine Paolucci are ranked 19th in Division III to end the fall. The duo advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Central Region Championships in late September.

Kanagasegar also checked in at 11th in the first Central Region poll, while Paolucci sits at 15th. Kanagasegar and Paolucci are also the fourth-ranked doubles pairing in the region entering the spring.

The Spartans will resume play in 2018, opening their spring season at home against Trinity (Tex.) University on Friday, February 9th.
