The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team, ranked 19th in Division III, wrapped-up competition during its spring trip to California with an 8-1 loss to Wesleyan College at the Andulka Park Tennis Center in Riverside, California on Thursday.
The Spartans' lone win during the match came at fourth singles, where senior Surya Khadilkar defeated Wesleyan's Aashli Budhiraja 6-2, 5-7, 10-5. Khadilkar improved to 7-0 overall in the spring, including a 3-0 mark in fourth-singles matches.
The loss was the second-straight for the Spartans, who fell to 5-2 overall in 2016. The match was the first of the season for Wesleyan, which improved to 1-0.
Case Western Reserve will be back in action next weekend at the Blue-Grey Invitational, hosted by the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The Spartans will open play at the event against Bates College on Friday, March 18th at 3:00 p.m.
