No. 21 Spartans Fall 8-1 To No. 15 Chicago in UAA Women's Tennis Quarterfinals

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL - The No. 21 fifth-seeded Case Western Reserve women's team dropped an 8-1 decision to No. 15 fourth-seeded University of Chicago in the rain-delayed quarterfinals of the UAA Women's Tennis Championship.

The match took more than 10 hours to complete with three rain delays, including two of two hours or longer. The Spartans battled in doubles, but dropped two of three matches by an 8-6 count.

Two of the CWRU losses in singles were three-set matches. Junior Surya Khadilkar (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Hawken School) earned the Spartan point with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

The Spartans, who fell to 11-7, will face eighth-seeded NYU in the consolation semifinals of the UAA Championship tomorrow at 2 p.m.
