GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team recorded a point during both singles and doubles action, respectively, but it wasn't enough in a 7-2 loss to No. 13 nationally-ranked Washington University-St. Louis during the second and final day of the 2013 DePauw Invitational on Sunday morning inside the Lilly Center.

The Spartans have dropped two-straight matches versus nationally-ranked foes and stand at 6-2 overall.

Washington U. (1-1), also ranked No. 4 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region, got off to a 2-1 lead following doubles action. Case garnered its lone point at No. 2 from the duo of sophomore Alexandra Lim (Fullerton, Calif./Fullerton Union) and freshman Surya Khadilkar (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Hawken School) with an 8-4 win versus Jamie Silverberg and Hanna Newstadt.

During singles play, the Bears posted wins in the first five spots before sophomore Marianne Bonanno (Clayton, Ohio/Northmont) posted a three-set (6-3, 0-6, 10-7) victory at No. 6.

The Spartans have nearly two weeks off from competition before heading out west to California for their annual Spring Break trip. In its first match, Case will square off with the University of Redlands (Calif.) on Saturday, March 9 at 9:30 a.m. PST.
