Spartan Women's Tennis Swept at Cross-Town Foe Cleveland State

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Squaring off against Division I opponent Cleveland State University, the Case Western Reserve University women's tennis team was defeated by a 7-0 score on Sunday inside the Paramount Tennis Club.

The Spartans (6-1) drop their first dual match of the season, while the Vikings improve to 5-3.

The No. 2 doubles tandem of sophomore Bianca Patel (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior Kathleen Evers (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) pushed the Cleveland State duo of Nicole Janek and Kara Sherwood to the limit before narrowly falling by an 8-7 tally.

The Spartan women look to get back to their winning ways when they play another Division I opponent in Youngstown State University (0-5) on Friday, February 24. First serve inside the Boardman Tennis Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
