Halsdorfer & Pearson Added to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

First-years Abby Halsdorfer and Johanna Pearson added to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team.

First-years Abby Halsdorfer and Johanna Pearson of the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team were recognized as Scholar All-America honorable mention selections by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), based on their athletic and academic performance during the 2019-20 campaign.

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher (either in the semester of the championship or cumulative) and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a 'B' time standard or competed at their respective diving qualifying meets.

Halsdorfer recorded a 'B' cut time in the 1,650-yard freestyle during the 2020 University Athletic Association Championships, while Pearson notched a 'B' cut time in the 1,650-yard freestyle during the 2019 Wooster Invitational.

Halsdorfer and Pearson join sophomores Kelly Moton and Anna Smith, and first-year Maria Pritchett as members of the Scholar All-America Team.

The Spartan women finished the 2019-20 season with a 7-2 dual meet record, including three consecutive wins to end the season.
