Case Western University junior Caitlyn VonFeldt was named the University Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Week following her performance during the 2020 Midwest Invitational at the University of Chicago this past weekend.
VonFeldt was a member of two relay teams that notched NCAA 'B' cut times, while also registering a 'B' cut time in an individual event. VonFeldt was a member of the 400-yard medley relay team that notched a 'B' cut time of 3:50.33 in a time trial. That time currently ranks fifth in the UAA and 18th in Division III. She also registered a 'B' cut time of 56.23 in the 100-yard backstroke during the relay, which currently ranks 22nd among Division III swimmers. In addition, VonFeldt was a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that also notched a 'B' cut time of 1:35.49 in a time trial. That time currently ranks sixth in the UAA and 27th in Division III.
This was VonFeldt's first UAA Athlete of the Week honor of her career.
The Spartans will now turn their attention towards the NCAA Division III Championships. Swimming selections to the NCAA Championships are slated to be released on Wednesday, February 26th at 10:00 a.m.
