Spartan Swimming & Diving Heads to CMU for Dual Meet

The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will make the trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 26th to compete in a dual meet against Carnegie Mellon University. The meet is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday.

CWRU is coming off of their season-opening Spartan Relay Meet that was held on Friday, October 4th. Sophomores Calvin Tecson and Kelly Moton each led the way for the Spartans.

Tecson was a member of the 500-yard freestyle relay team that finished first with a time of 4:20.72. In addition, Tecson was a member of the 400-yard freestyle relay team that won the event with a time of 3:15.64. Moton was a member of the 3x100 breaststroke relay team that finished first with a time of 3:35.91, and she was a member of the 400-yard medley relay team that won the event with a time of 4:11.28.

The CWRU women finished the 2018-19 campaign ranked eighth in the Central Region Poll.

Saturday's meet will be the first dual meet competition of the season for Carnegie Mellon, a UAA-rival for the Spartans. Last season, the CWRU men fell to the Tartans 206-94, while the Spartan women lost 161.5-138.5.
