  • Announcing 'Spartan Stories': Daily Features on CWRU Athletes, Teams & Alumni

    While athletics at Case Western Reserve University might be on hold for the time being, athletics.case.edu will be providing a new way for Spartan fans to follow the program. For the remainder of the spring and into the summer, the official website of Spartan Athletics will be providing ‘Spartan Stories,’ a series daily features on teams, athletes and alumni to allow fans to keep up with their favorite teams.

    Five members of the Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team earned entry to the 2020 NCAA Division III Championships, however the NCAA made the decision to cancel all remaining winter and spring championships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the rapidly changing circumstances related to the CoVid-19 pandemic, Case Western Reserve University Department of Physical Education and Athletics has announced the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 spring varsity athletics season beginning on Saturday, March 14th.

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team picked up two wins on Saturday at home, defeating Ohio Northern University 220-35 and Hillsdale College 169.5-92.5, while the men’s swimming and diving team beat Ohio Northern University 225-64. With the wins, the women improve to 6-2 in dual meets, while the men improve to 5-2.

    The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will be back in action this weekend, when the team hosts Ohio Northern University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25th. In addition, the Spartan women will be competing against NCAA Division II Hillsdale College, which only fields a women’s team.

    The Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams split a dual meet at the Veale Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday afternoon, with the men claiming a 179.5-114.5 over SUNY-Geneseo, but the women falling 150-144 against the Knights.
