Case Western Reserve University senior Suhan Mestha, senior Renee Decker, sophomore Caitlyn VonFeldt and freshman Daniella Rupert were selected to the field of competitors for the 2019 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
Mestha, Decker, VonFeldt and Rupert each earned entry to the field in the 200-yard freestyle relay, after swimming a time of 1:34.95 at the 2019 Midwest Invitational to place first in the event. Their time is good for the 18th-best seed time among relays entered in the event for the NCAA Championships.
Mestha also received entry to the 50-yard freestyle (seeded 15th with a time of 23.42), 100-yard freestyle (seeded 12th with a time of 51.03) and the 100-yard backstroke (seeded 10th with a time of 56.17).
Last year, Mestha finished 14th in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.10 to claim an All-America Honorable Mention certificate. Mestha also teamed with VonFeldt, senior Alli Drohosky and former Spartan Inez Moore to place 14th in the 200-yard medley relay with a mark of 1:44.62.
The 2019 NCAA Division III Championships will be hosted by the Old Dominion Athletic Conference at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina from March 20th -23rd.
