Case Western Reserve University senior Suhan Mestha was named the University Athletic Association Women's Swimmer of the Week, following her performance during the 2019 Midwest Invitational at the University of Chicago this past weekend.
Mestha was a member of three relay teams that broke two school records and also recorded three NCAA 'B' cut times. She was a member of the 200-yard freestyle relay team that finished first with a new school record and 'B' cut time of 1:34.95. That time bests the previous record of 1:35.37 set at last weekend's UAA championships. Mestha was then a member of the 400-yard medley relay team that finished first with a school record and 'B' cut time of 3:50.41. That time bests the previous record of 3:51.72 that was also set at the UAA Championships.
She closed out the invite as a member of the 200-yard medley relay that finished first with a NCAA 'B' cut time of 1:44.73.
This was Mestha's second UAA Athlete of the Week honor this season and third of her career.
