Following Winter Break and a training trip to Florida, the Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving teams will be back in the pool this weekend, when the team travels to Geneseo, New York to compete against the SUNY-Geneseo Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19th.

The Spartan men will enter the meet with an overall record of 5-1 following their first-place finish at the Wooster Invitational on December 1st. The women stand at 5-1 for the season and are also coming off of a first-place finish at the Wooster Invitational. In addition, the CWRU men are currently ranked 17th among NCAA Division III teams, while the women are ranked 16th.
Senior Suhan Mestha currently ranks eighth among all Division III competitors in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.42 and eighth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 51.03. In addition, Mestha currently has the fifth-best time in the 100-yard backstroke (56.17).
The SUNY-Geneseo men will enter the meet with a 4-1 record, while the women stand at 5-0. Both are coming off of second-place finishes at the Ithaca Winter Invitational on December 2nd. The men placed second with a total of 1,206 points, while the Geneseo women gathered 1,401 points.
This will be the second meeting between the two schools during the Coach Milliken era. The Spartan men and women both fell to the Knights last season at the Veale Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
