Junior Suhan Mestha and freshman Caitlyn VonFeldt competed for the Spartans during the third day of competition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Mestha and VonFeldt each competed during the morning preliminaries of the 100-yard backstroke. Mestha finished tied for 27th in the event with a time of 57.05, while VonFeldt placed 33rd with a time of 57.85.
After three days of competition at the NCAA Division III Championships, the Spartan women are currently in 34th-place at the meet with six points.
CWRU will wrap-up competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday. Currently scheduled to compete for Case Western Reserve are senior Dew Hamilton in the 100-yard freestyle (seeded 44th with a time of 46.15), VonFeldt (seeded 8th with a time of 2:01.47) and Mestha (seeded 14th with a time of 2:02.16) swimming in the 200-yard backstroke, and the women's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Mestha, VonFeldt, senior Inez Moore and freshman Vanya Ruppart competing in the event (seeded 16th with a time of 3:28.84).
