Women’s 200 Medley Relay Earns All-America Honorable Mention during Day 1 of NCAA’s

The Case Western Reserve University women's 200-yard medley relay team of senior Inez Moore, junior Alli Drohosky, junior Suhan Mestha and freshman Caitlyn VonFeldt finished 14th in the event to claim an All-America Honorable Mention certificate during the first day of competition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The 200-yard medley relay team finished 14th in the event with a time of 1:44.62. This was the first career All-American certificate for each of the four swimmers. Earlier in the day, they finished 14th in the preliminaries of the event with a time of 1:44.79.

In addition, Mestha and VonFeldt also competed in the 50-yard freestyle preliminaries. Mestha finished 19th in the event with a time of 23.65, while VonFeldt finished 55th with a time of 24.83.

Also earlier in the day, senior Drew Hamilton finished 29th in the preliminaries of the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:35.56.

Action at the meet will resume on Thursday from the IU Natatorium. Scheduled to be in action for the Spartans during the second day of competition is Hamilton in the 400-yard individual medley (seeded 19th with a time of 3:58.98).
