Case Western Reserve University junior Alli Drohosky, junior Suhan Mestha, senior Inez Moore, freshman Vanya Ruppart and freshman Caitlyn VonFeldt were selected to the field of competitors for the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships.
Drohosky, Mestha, Moore and VonFeldt each earned entry to the field in the 200-yard medley relay, after swimming a time of 1:44.02 at the 2018 Midwest Invitational to place first in the event. Their time is good for the 8th-best seed time among relays entered in the event at the NCAA Championships. Mestha, Moore, Ruppart and VonFeldt also earned entry to the field in the 400-yard freestyle relay, after swimming a time of 3:28.84 at the 2018 University Athletic Association Championships to place third in the event. Their time is good for the 16th-best seed time among relays entered in the event.
Mestha also received entry to the 50-yard freestyle (seeded 14th with a time of 23.56), 100-yard backstroke (seeded 14th with a time of 56.09) and 200-yard backstroke (seeded 14th with a time of 2:02.16). Other individual entries were awarded to VonFeldt in the 50-yard freestyle (seeded 52nd with a time of 24.64), 100-yard backstroke (seeded 23rd with a time of 56.42) and the 200-yard backstroke (seeded 8th with a time of 2:01.47).
Senior men's swimmer Drew Hamilton was also selected as an alternate in the men's field for the 500-yard freestyle. Hamilton swam a time of 4:30.70 at the 2018 UAA Championships to place fifth in the event.
The 2018 NCAA Division III Championships will be hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corp at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana from March 21st-24th.
