  • Spartan Club Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2018

    The Spartan Club, in coordination with the Case Western Reserve University Department of Athletics, has announced its 2018 Hall of Fame Class - Esther Erb Atkins (Cross Country/ Track & Field, CWRU ‘08), Aaron Johnston-Peck (Cross Country/ Track & Field, CWRU ‘07) , Santo Maimone (Football, CWRU ‘06), Lauren Preyss Erickson (Women’s Swimming & Diving, CWRU ‘07), Pat Rodjom (Men’s Swimming & Diving, CWRU ‘07), heritage selection John Davin (Basketball & Golf, CIT ‘60), and special category inductee M. Frank Rudy (CIT ‘50).
  • Three Spartan Women Earn Individual CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

    Three members of the Case Western Reserve University women’s swimming and diving team were recognized as Scholar All-Americans by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), based on their athletic and academic performances during the 2017-18 campaign.

    Case Western Reserve University junior Suhan Mestha finished 14th in the finals of the 200-yard backstroke to claim an All-America Honorable Mention as the Spartans wrapped-up competition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday.

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s 200-yard medley relay team of senior Inez Moore, junior Alli Drohosky, junior Suhan Mestha and freshman Caitlyn VonFeldt finished 14th in the event to claim an All-America Honorable Mention certificate during the first day of competition at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    The Case Western Reserve University women’s 400-yard freestyle relay team of junior Suhan Mestha, senior Inez Moore, freshman Caitlyn VonFeldt and freshman Vanya Ruppart placed third in the event to lead the Spartan women to a sixth-place finish, while the men placed sixth, at the 2018 University Athletic Association Championships in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday.

    Four former Case Western Reserve University swimming and diving team members were named to the University Athletic Association 30th Anniversary Swimming and Diving Teams, with Alicia Kendig (2001-04) and Lauren Preyss (2006-07) among 61 student total student-athletes named to the women?s team, and Connor Farrell (2012-16) and Pat Rodjom (2003-07) each earning a spot among the 55 student-athletes on the men?s team.

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s swimming and diving team picked up a 229-66 victory over Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday, while the women’s squad defeated BW 243-56 and defeated NCAA Division III program Ursuline College 252-21 in the Veale Natatorium.

    The Case Western Reserve University men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams picked up a 194-106 victory over Ohio Northern University on Saturday, while the women’s squad defeated ONU 215-84 and defeated NCAA Division II program Hillsdale College 184-107.
