Maggie Dillione Competes on Day One of NCAA Championship

INDIANAPOLIS – Case Western Reserve University's two-time All-American senior captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) opened her week at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championship Meet on Wednesday morning at IUPUI Natatorium.

Dillione, who will swim in her specialty events during the next two days, competed in the 50-yard freestyle prelims as a warm-up. She swam to a time of 24.47 seconds to place 36th overall.

Dillione is back in the pool tomorrow morning for the 100 butterfly, where she enters as the No. 5 seed with a mark of 56.64. She then swims in the 200 fly on Friday as the No. 1 seed with a time of 2:03.05. The fourth-year Spartan holds the school record in both butterfly events and was an All-American in each in 2013.

Prelims and finals begin each day at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., respectively.
