CHICAGO – The Case Western Reserve University women's swimmers placed second of 10 teams at the Midwest Invitational on Friday and Saturday, February 21-22 at Myers-McLoraine Pool.
The Spartans turned in a pair of top-three finishes as junior Abby Glenn (Novi, Mich./Novi) finished third in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 18:30.48. The 200 medley relay team of Glenn, sophomore Bailey Burk (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green Senior), senior Hannah Altman-Kurosaki (New York, N.Y./Fiorello H. LaGuardia) and sophomore Catie Petersen (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle Regional) were second after a 2:06.79 race.
While the season comes to an end for most of the team, senior Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North), who is ranked first in the nation in the 200 yard butterfly, will compete at the NCAA Championship Meet for the second season in a row. She was a two-time All-American at the event last season.
The 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championship Meet is scheduled for March 19-22 at IU Natatorium in Indianapolis.
