MEADVILLE, Pa. – Seniors Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa / Council Rock North) and Sara Tillie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) each won three events to lead the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming and diving team to a 153.5-146.5 victory over Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon at Mellon Pool.
The win improves Case's dual meet record to 4-4.
Both Dillione and Tillie were part of the 200-yard medley relay team that claimed victory in the afternoon's first event. The co-captains were joined by junior Brianna Cain (Perry, Ohio/Perry) and sophomore AJ Thirion (Cortland, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) with a time of 1:55.13.
Tillie also anchored the 200 freestyle relay to a first-place time of 1:44.95. Junior Sarah Mastrandrea (East Amherst, N.Y./Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart), sophomore Rachael Loek (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) and freshman Hannah Saunders (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East) were the other members of the 200 free relay.
Tillie's individual victory came in the 50 free with a time of 26.29. Dillione's other two first-place finishes were in the 200 free (1:59.68) and the 100 butterfly (58.59).
Saunders also added an individual victory in the 100 free with a time of 58.07.
The Spartans won four other events behind junior Abby Glenn (Novi, Mich./Novi) in the 1,000 free (11:25.94), junior Sophia Colevas (Washington, D.C./St. John's College) in the 200 individual medley (2:20.69), sophomore Rebecca Pakradooni (Augusta, Ga./Lakeside) in the 500 free (5:31.45) and freshman Taylor Forsythe (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) in the 200 backstroke (2:37.60).
Case is back in action next Saturday, January 25, when it travels to Ada, Ohio to take on Ohio Northern University at 1:00 p.m.
