WOOSTER, Ohio – For the second-straight day, junior captain Maggie Dillione (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) posted her name atop the program's record book in an individual event as the Case Western Reserve University women's swimming & diving team finished fourth after the final day of the 2012 College of Wooster Invitational held inside the Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.
The Spartans scored 1,110 points for the meet, finishing fourth in the 10-team field behind only Division II Gannon University's (Pa.) 1,536, Edinboro University's (Pa.) 1,429.5 and host Wooster (1,262).
Dillione, who set the program's 100-yard butterfly record last night, lowered her previous 200 fly mark of 2:06.07 with a runner-up time of 2:06.00. The school-record mark is also good for an NCAA Division III "B" Cut.
Also on day three, junior Sara Tillie (Fallston, Md./Fallston) concluded her weekend with a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.67. She also finished third in Thursday's 200 individual medley and during yesterday's 400 IM.
During relay events, the quartet of Tillie, freshmen Alison Thirion (Cortland, Ohio/Warren G. Harding) and Rebecca Pakradooni (Martinez, Ga./Lakeside), and Dillione touched the wall in fourth place during the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:36.02.
The Spartans have little time to rest as they will take part in the Cleveland College Dual Meet Invitational hosted by Cleveland State University on Tuesday, December 4. Diving is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., while swimming will start at 5:00 p.m.
