Eric Lapsansky completed his third season as the Spartans’ goalkeeper coach in 2015. Lapsansky is in his second stint with the CWRU coaching staff, having previously served as an assistant from 1998-2000.
A former Academic All-Big East selection at the University of Pittsburgh, Lapsansky also played for the Cleveland Caps in the United Soccer League.
Before arriving in University Circle, Lapsansky most recently coached at Cleveland State University and with the Whitecaps Premier Soccer Club. He has an extensive coaching career which began in 1997 as an assistant coach for the boys and girls soccer teams at nearby Chagrin Falls High School. From 1999-2011, Lapsansky was the head soccer coach for the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Girls Soccer Team. While at BBHHS, he amassed an impressive 142-57-26 record and was named the NSCAA/OSSCA Ohio Coach of the Year in 2004.
Lapsansky earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He also holds a master’s degree in curriculum, instruction and design from Walden University (Minn.).
