The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team will look to continue its strong start to the season with two non-conference matches. The team hosts Hiram College at DiSanto Field on Wednesday, September 4th at 7:30 p.m. and then travels to Erie, Pennsylvania to take on Penn State Behrend College on Sunday, September 8th at 1:00 p.m.

CWRU Spartans (2-0-0)
The Spartans opened up the 2019 season, and the Jen Simonetti era, with a resounding 4-0 win over Oberlin College. Sophomore Anika Washburn netted two goals and added an assist, with senior Kimberly Chen and freshman Aniya Hartzler each scoring as well.
Case Western Reserve continued its offensive onslaught with an 8-0 victory over Fredonia State in the team's home-opening match. Washburn scored twice again as did freshman Johanna Dunkers. Sophomores Christina Hickson, Lizzie White, and Ella Copich each added a goal, as did Hartzler.
Hiram Terriers (0-2-0)
Hiram dropped its first two games of the season this past week, losing 3-1 to Albion (Mich.) College and 2-0 to Alma (Mich.) College.
Senior Ally Green started both games in goal and tallied 11 saves. Junior Amber Baker has one goal on the season, and sophomore Kaitlyn Harris and junior Hannah Ward lead the team with two shots each.
CWRU defeated Hiram 3-0 last season at DiSanto Field.
Penn St.-Behrend Lions (0-2-0)
The Lions hosted the Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament this past weekend but dropped both matches, losing to Nazareth College 3-0 and Kenyon College 2-0.
Senior Lexie Frank and sophomore Brenna McGuire lead the team with three shots each. Freshman Morgan Harding played all 180 minutes in goal for Penn State-Behrend, saving 11 shots in two matches.
The Lions host Grove City College on Friday, September 6 before the Spartans visit on Sunday. The Spartans and Lions last faced off in 2017, with Penn St.-Behrend taking home a 1-0 victory.
Senior Kimberly Chen and sophomore Anika Washburn lead the Spartans with seven shots each...Washburn also has a team-leading six shots on goal...The Spartans eight goals against Fredonia State were the most by the team in a match since 2006...The team's 0.300 shot percentage is highest in the UAA...Washburn's 10 points are the most among all University Athletic Association players.
