    While athletics at Case Western Reserve University might be on hold for the time being, athletics.case.edu will be providing a new way for Spartan fans to follow the program. For the remainder of the spring and into the summer, the official website of Spartan Athletics will be providing ‘Spartan Stories,’ a series daily features on teams, athletes and alumni to allow fans to keep up with their favorite teams.

Due to the rapidly changing circumstances related to the CoVid-19 pandemic, Case Western Reserve University Department of Physical Education and Athletics has announced the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 spring varsity athletics season beginning on Saturday, March 14th.

    Case Western Reserve University women's soccer sophomore midfielder Anika Washburn, junior defender Bailey George and first-year forward Merry Meyer have been selected to the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association 2019 All-Ohio Teams, while senior forward Kimberly Chen and senior goalkeeper Lauren Unterborn were named to the OCSA 2019 All-Academic Teams.

The all-region honors are the first of each of their careers.

    The 21st-ranked Case Western Reserve University women’s soccer team received a bid to the 2019 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championships, and will head to Wheaton, Illinois to compete this weekend on Friday, November 15th and Saturday, November 16th.
  • #21 Women’s Soccer Loses to #25 Carnegie Mellon on ‘Senior Day’

    In the final match of the regular season, the 21st ranked Case Western Reserve University women’s soccer team fell to No. 25 Carnegie Mellon University 3-1 at DiSanto Field on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 13-5-0 on the season and 2-5-0 in the University Athletic Association. The Tartans improve to 11-5-1 and 4-3-0 in the UAA.

    Despite fighting hard for 105 minutes, the Case Western Reserve University women’s soccer team fell in double overtime to third-ranked Washington University in St. Louis 2-1 in a road University Athletic Association match. The loss drops the Spartans to 13-4-0 overall and 2-4 in the UAA, while the league leading Bears improve to 15-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the UAA.

    On a cold Friday afternoon in Chicago, Illinois, the Case Western Reserve University women’s soccer team upset No. 12 University of Chicago 2-0 in a University Athletic Association match. With the win, the Spartans improve to 13-3-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the UAA. With their first loss since September 7, the Maroons fall to 11-2-2 and 3-1-1 in the UAA.

  • Women’s Soccer Travels to Face Ranked Conference Opponents

    After wrapping up non-conference play, the Case Western Reserve University women’s soccer team hits the road for two tough matchups against ranked University Athletic Association foes. First, the team travels to Chicago, Illinois to take on the 12th-ranked University of Chicago on Friday, November 1st, with a kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. ET. Then, the Spartans head west to St. Louis, Missouri to face No. 3 Washington University in St. Louis on Sunday, November 3rd at 12:00 p.m. ET.
