The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team will host Denison University at DiSanto Field on Tuesday, September 25th at 7:30 p.m., before opening its 2018 University Athletic Association schedule on Saturday, September 29th as they travel to Waltham, Massachusetts for a 1:30 p.m. match against 12th-ranked Brandeis University.

CWRU Spartans (5-2-0)
Senior Emily Dickens connected on a 'golden goal' in the first overtime period on Tuesday afternoon to give the Spartan women a 1-0 win over the College of the Wooster at Carl Dale Field in Wooster, Ohio. The game was scoreless throughout regulation, before Dickens struck for the game-winning score, her first of the season, with just 3:17 left to play in the first overtime period. The senior received a pass from freshman forward Ella Copich and was able to roll the ball in after the Wooster keeper came out to stop the pass. The assist was Copich's first of her collegiate career.
On Sunday against Washington & Jefferson College, Dickens, senior Melanie Kukura and Copich each scored a goal to give the Spartans a 3-0 shutout win over the Presidents. The 5-2-0 record for the Spartans is the best start through seven games for the program since the 2011 season when the team began the season with a 5-1-1 record.
Denison Big Red (5-2-0)
The Big Red tallied four goals in the first half as they opened their North Coast Athletic Conference schedule with a 4-0 victory over Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon.
Denison is led offensively by senior Maggie Armstrong who leads the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists, while freshman Liz Gilbert is close behind with 11 points on five goals and one assist. In net, freshman Patil Tcholakian has started every game for the Big Red. She has allowed only five goals in over 579 minutes of action and made 35 saves.
#12 Brandeis Judges (6-0-0)
The Judges earned a tough 2-1 overtime victory over Tufts University on Saturday. Brandeis opened the scoring in the 15th minute, when junior Amanda Fernbach netted her first career goal. Tufts broke through in the 69th minute with a give-and-go goal by Liz Reed as Sophie Lloyd picked up the assist. The Judges won the game in the 97th minute after drawing a foul in the box. Sophomore Daria Nakhtiari put the ensuing penalty kick just inside the left post to score her third goal of the season.
Brandeis will play at Wellesley College on Tuesday, before returning home to face the Spartans on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Christina Hickson has scored a team-best five goals this season, and leads the squad with 10 total points…Hickson's five goals also currently rank tied for second among all University Athletic Association players…Sophomore goalkeeper Lauren Metz ranks tied for first in the UAA in both saves (24) and save percentage (.889), while also ranking second in goals-against average (0.50) and fourth in goals against (3)…The Spartans have totaled 102 shots and 46 shots on goal through its first seven games of the 2018 campaign…CWRU has held opponents to averages of just 5.0 shots on goal per game, and 10.9 shots per contest.
