The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team will play a pair of important games against University Athletic Association opponents on the road this weekend, when the Spartans take on Emory University at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14th and the University of Rochester at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 16th.

CWRU Spartans (5-4-3)
The Spartans defeated Ohio Wesleyan University, 2-0, on Wednesday evening at DiSanto Field. CWRU controlled the pace most of the way, and senior forward Marley Praprost broke a scoreless tie in the 36th minute off an assist from sophomore midfielder Melanie Kukura. The Spartans increased their lead to 2-0 at the 45:17 mark when senior forward Amy Lindberg scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season via an assist from freshman forward Kimberly Chen.
CWRU dropped a 4-0 decision to eighth-ranked Brandeis University in a UAA contest on Saturday afternoon.
Emory Eagles (7-4)
The Eagles stifled the Sewanee University Tigers, 1-0, in a non-conference match on Tuesday night. Sophomore Sophia Dillion scored the lone goal on the night, breaking a scoreless tie in the 69th minute of action.
Emory fell to 15th-ranked Washington University by a score of 2-1 on Saturday afternoon. Washington scored the first two goals of the game at 32:40 and 48:29. The Eagles cut the deficit to one in the 62nd minute as freshman Morgan Brandewie scored her first career tally.
Rochester Yellowjackets (2-5-4)
The Yellowjackets put on early pressure, scored twice in the first 19 minutes, and went on to a 3-0 victory over St. John Fisher College on Tuesday evening. McKenzie Runyan, Jorie Freitag and Lee Stagg scored goals for Rochester. Kim Stagg and Megan Runyan picked up assists.
11th-ranked University of Chicago scored a late goal to defeat visiting University of Rochester 1-0 in UAA play on Saturday. Chicago's Rachel Dias scored the game winner for the home team in the 80th minute.
Junior goalkeeper Sarah Newcomb currently ranks first in the University Athletic Association with 49 saves and fifth with .778 save percentage…The Spartans have totaled 171 shots and 74 shots on goal this season…CWRU has held opponents to averages of just 5.25 shots on goal per game, and 10.4 shots per contest.
