The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to the 18th-ranked University of Chicago in a University Athletic Association contest in Chicago, Illinois on Friday afternoon.
The loss dropped the Spartans to 0-4-1 in UAA games and to 7-5-4 overall, while Chicago raised its conference record to 4-1-0, with a 12-4-0 overall ledger.
Chicago wasted little time taking a lead, as Kelsey Moore scored just 2:51 into the start of the game, off an assist from Jenna McKinney. Moore would score her second goal of the match at the 29:35 mark, this time with an assist from Naomi Pacalin, extending the lead to 2-0.
The two goal advantage would hold for the remainder of the game. Chicago finished with a 12-5 edge in total shots, including a 4-2 bump in shots on goal.
Junior Marley Praprost finished the game with a team-best three shots, one of which was on target.
The Spartans will be back in action on Sunday, November 1st, taking on sixth-ranked Washington University (Mo.). The game is slated for a 12:00 p.m. ET start.
