#23 Women’s Soccer Falls at Home to Rochester 4-0

The Case Western Reserve University women's soccer team, ranked 23rd in Division III, dropped a 4-0 decision to the University of Rochester in a University Athletic Association contest at DiSanto Field on windy Sunday afternoon.

The Spartans fell to 7-4-3 with the loss, including a 0-3-1 mark in UAA games.  Rochester improved to 6-5-1 for the campaign with a 2-2-0 UAA mark.

Rochester started its scoring early on Sunday, when Christina Feller scored her first goal of the season unassisted, bending a tough-angle shot into the far corner of the net in the first minute of the game.  The Yellowjackets increased their advantage to 2-0 in the 33rd minute, taking advantage of Spartans' own goal.

In the 55th minute, Rochester struck again on a long strike, this time from Shayna Levy, her first of the season.  Levy took a shot from approximately 25 yards out that bent just inside the far post, extending the lead to 3-0.  A late goal by Kerri Eden, her first of the season, cemented the victory for Rochester.

The Spartans will have a week break from conference play, returning to action next Saturday, October 24th against Wooster College.  The non-conference game, ending a season-long five match home stand for CWRU, is scheduled for a 1:30 p.m. start at DiSanto Field.
