The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team is set to host Thiel College on Wednesday, January 8th at 12:00 p.m. in Horsburgh Gymnasium.

Junior 197-pounder Brian Kent and first-year 149-pounder Mitchell Arch have paced the Spartans so far this season, as each have picked up 13 wins. Kent (13-7 overall) has tallied nine pins, while Arch (13-7 overall) has tallied a team-high 12 pins. In addition, senior Andrew Hoover has tallied 10 wins (10-8, five pins at 149 pounds).
Kent led the Spartans at the D3 National Challenge this past Saturday, as he posted a perfect 2-0 record. In Kent's first match, he defeated UW-Whitewater's Alex Oruna with a pin at the 4:33 mark in the 197-pound match. Against Millikin's Logan Hagerbaumer, who is ranked ninth in the latest NWCA Division III individual rankings, Kent won by a 10-4 decision.
Thiel is 2-1 in dual matches during the 2019-20 campaign. The Tomcats are led by 17th-year head coach Craig Thurber. He is assisted by Caleb Garvey.
Last season, the Spartans and Tomcats faced each other during a tri-meet with Lourdes University. CWRU fell to Thiel 24-14, as sophomore Adam Kates, senior Alec Hoover, Andrew Hoover and senior Isaac Collier each picked up victories for the Spartans.
