Spartan Wrestling to End 2019 at RIT Invitational

The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team will travel to Rochester, New York for the 54th-Annual RIT Invitational Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, December 7th.

Action at the meet is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday at the Gordon Field House on the RIT campus. The tournament will continue throughout the day, with the finals scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.

In addition to CWRU and host RIT, other schools participating at the meet include Alfred State, John Carroll, Keystone, New England College, Norwich, Oneonta State, Oswego State, Penn St.-Behrend, SUNY Ulster, Thiel, Trinity (Conn.), Pitt.-Bradford, Williams and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Current entries for the Spartans include sophomores Adam Kates and Patrick Hebreard in the 125 pound weight class, sophomore Duncan Clayton in the 133 pound weight class, senior Alec Hoover, senior Jacob Frisch, sophomore Brandon Callow, sophomore Manhattan Gatton and first-year Brad Staron in the 141 pound weight class, senior Andrew Hoover, sophomore Brandon Barton and first-year Mitchell Arch in the 149 pound weight class, junior Thomas Gallagher and sophomore Jack Chipps in the 157 pound weight class, senior Isaac Collier and sophomore Kyle Roberts in the 165 pound weight class, first-year Stephen Andryc in the 184 pound weight class, junior Brian Kent, junior Joey Shulik and first-year Liam Jeske in the 197 pound weight class and sophomore Grant Robinson in the 285 pound weight class.

This will be CWRU's second invitational meet of the season. Andrew Hoover leads the squad with eight wins (8-4 overall), while Kent (7-5) and Arch (7-5) have each tallied seven victories in their respective weight classes.
