Wrestling to Host CWRU Duals on Saturday

The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team will host its second-to-last home meet of the 2018-19 campaign, when the Spartans welcome Defiance College, Kent State University at Tuscarawas and Penn State Behrend to Horsburgh Gymnasium for the 2019 CWRU Duals on Saturday, February 2nd.

***Start times listed are tentative – the meet will operate with a rolling schedule with 10 minutes in between each match. Therefore, matches could potentially start earlier or later than the times listed below***

Pre-Meet Ceremony
Prior to the start of the meet on Saturday, CWRU will recognize their two graduating senior members – Gavin Dersh-Fisher and Brian McNamara.

CWRU Spartans
The Spartans are 0-3 in dual matches this season. Junior 133-pounder Alec Hoover and junior 165-pounder Isaac Collier have totaled the most wins for CWRU this year. Alec Hoover (23-6) has recorded seven pins and one technical fall, while Collier (21-9), has tallied five pins and three technical falls. In addition, junior 141-pounder Andrew Hoover has recorded 15 wins and senior 285-pounder Brian McNamara has totaled 13 wins. Andrew Hoover (15-15) has collected four pins and three technical falls and McNamara (13-10) has gathered two pins.

The Spartans are under the leadership of fourth-year Head Coach Danny Song. He is assisted by Jaes Jones, Chas Busz, Tim Scarl and Cito Balsells.

Defiance Yellow Jackets
Defiance is 1-3 in dual matches this season, after placing 35th at the 2019 Pete Willson Invitational on Saturday. Included in the team's record is a 1-2 mark in road matches during the campaign. The Yellow Jackets are coached by Antonio Guerra, who is in his first season with the squad. He is assisted by Rudy Corpus and Damon Sims.

Kent State Golden Flashes
The Golden Flashes are 4-7 in dual matches this season, following a 34-22 win over Slippery Rock University on January 12th. Included in the team's record is a 1-5 mark in road matches during the campaign. Kent State is under the leadership of Dave Schlarb, who is in his second season with the program.

Penn St.-Behrend Lions
Behrend is 3-13 in dual matches this season. Included in the team's record is a 0-4 mark in road matches during the campaign. The Lions are led by first-year head coach Bobby Patnesky.
